iBeat News 2002/2003/2004/2005/2006/2007

Besides of the work on ian's iBeat, we are currently re-designing our website. The current design was good in 2000, but it *isn't* in 2007. So there will be a new web design, coded in barrier free and standards-compliant XHTML/CSS without the damn frames, tables, and font tags. Soon on this site!

Well, I didn't make it to complete a Beta Version of ian's iBeat v.2.0 in the last three years, but I also didn't cancel development on it (although download.com "buried" it some time ago...)! As my spare time was hardly existent during that period, it took me a while to complete the program. But it will definetely be available soon in the FINAL version after the last function tests and bugfixing.

The program will then be available for Windows 9x/ME/2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS X.

The next Beta Version of ian's iBeat v.2.0 will be available soon! We have done a feature freeze recently and are now preparing the program for release.

New features of ian's iBeat v.2.0 Beta 2 will include

User Banks (up to 999)
Audio Export
A 50-step Undo feature
HTML-Help Files

The new Beta 2 will be available for Windows 9x/ME/2000 in some amount of time.

Macintosh Carbon- and WindowsXP-versions are in parallel development, but will take some additional time to finish. Watch out!

Since some time there is some email going around containing various worms, viruses, trojans, et al. Some of those malicious software sends itself under falsified email adresses from someone else's adress book. So it could be, that You get email in our name and with our sender adress and viral content that we did not send.

Subjects vary among "iBeat V.1.1" (long ago), "You then could record Your patterns" (In fact, You can in the next beta), "Now performant on slower systems", or something of that kind, and they all have an attachment.

If You get a mail like this, delete it.

Those mails You could get ARE NOT from syntaxphreaks!
syntaxphreaks DOES NOT SEND ANY BINARIES PER EMAIL!
syntaxphreaks DOES NOT SEND PROGRAM RELEASES OR BETAS PER EMAIL!
syntaxhreaks sends only plain text email, no attachments!

So, whenever You get something called "iBeat something" that's more than a plain text mail, simply delete and forget it!

ian's iBeat v2.0 BETA1 is now available! This is a whole new iBeat with all the features mentioned in the previous article. It does not contain user banks or a true help by now, but though it's a lot of fun! Check it out!

A new iBeat is on its way! The Audio Engine is done, we're now heavily into re-programming the interface. Due to loads of improvements and the complete re-design, we've finally decided to make this new iBeat the version 2.0!

New features include fully customizable skins, sound pitching, a complete mixing automation, and many more... The release date will (?) be somewhen in June, an exclusive sneak preview of two of the new skins can be found just here (links will open extra window):

iBeat 1.4d is now available! This is a bugfix for the Bank Manager in v.1.4/1.4a/1.4c that did not allow to delete single samples from a bank. This bug has been removed. v.1.4d is available as full installer (9,5 MB), update from v.1.3x (4,5 MB) or update from 1.4/1.4a/1.4c (364 KB). Check it out!
